About The Company
Melania Levitsky (Director/Co-Creator) is the Associate Artistic Director of Walking the dog theater and a member of The Actors’ Ensemble. Directing credits include Chekhovek; Virtue, Desire, Death and Foolishness; Taming of the Shrew; Becoming Frederick Douglass; The Tempest: As you Like it; The Ancestor Tree: The Gold in the Ground. She is on the faculty of the Michael Chekhov Acting Studio in NYC and has taught workshops all over the U.S., Europe and South Africa. Her one-woman show Blue Arches was commissioned by Sunbridge College and has been produced numerous times in the U.S. and abroad. She is certified in Level 1 in Spacial Dynamics and Bothmer Gymnastics. Favorite roles as an actor include Rosalind, Cyrano, Touchstone, Sarafina (Rose Tattoo), Olivia (12th Night). Devised shows with colleagues of WTD include Hamlet; The Death Show and The Money Show. She is currently collaborating on a singer/songwriter CD with a colleague in Amsterdam. Melania will be directing Winter’s Tale for WTD next summer.
